Examples include Veterans and their business, Veteran Service Organizations, adults/children making a difference in their community and/or overcoming obstacles, health/wellness/safety, and awareness of an array of topics/events. Guest interviews are conducted in studio or via zoom, and last 30 minutes. Breaking Barriers gives viewers education, motivation, and inspiration for their daily life.

Bayada Nurses, May 2008-present. Clinical Educator- responsible for interviews, annual competencies, counseling employees, preceptors/orientees, documentation review, teach introduction to pediatrics and trach/vent courses, QA/PI, teach in-services, and run simulation lab. Per Diem Registered Nurse- responsible for providing direct care to children/adults receiving nursing services in their home with trachs/vents, DYFS transports, substitute school nurse, camp nurse.

United States Navy-December 2010-Present. Registered Nurse Officer in the Nurse Corp. Deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan February 2015-October 2015, critical care nurse in the Role 3 Hospital, attend to patients in the ER during mass casualty situations, function as charge nurse. Unit Nurse Leader at Ft. Dix-attend to medical needs of sailor’s pre/post mobilization, attend medical training opportunities, mentor/educate new nurse corps sailors, assist commanding officer, assist training officer to gather data, ensure mandatory education/training completed for the unit nurses, and prepare reports in Excel. Officer in Charge at Operation Commanding Force.

St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children-September 2012-November 2013. Registered Nurse, Critical Care Transport Team, responsible for transport of patients from hospitals without pediatric services to St. Christopher’s Hospital for children.

Loving Care Pediatrics, July 2007-May 2008. Clinical Manager responsible for managing 20-25 clients who receive skilled nursing services in their home. Responsible for all clinical activities. Implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates clinical services and options necessary to meet an individual’s needs, either directly or in a supervisory capacity, within the scope of services offered by the agency.

Gift of Life, March 2007 –June 2007. Transplant Coordinator responsible for evaluating potential organ donors in an ICU setting. Once family consent has been obtained, allocate organs to recipients, medically manage donors, accurate documentation of donor vitals- intake/output/medications, and arrange for transportation of surgeons to the hospital to recover the organs, arrange for operating room time, supervise recovery process in the operating room, & ensure that organs are properly stored and labeled.

Bayada Nurses, June 2006 to March 2007. Nursing supervisor responsible for managing a caseload of 75-80 clients who are receiving either home health aide or nursing services in their home. Responsible for supervising certified home health aides, LPN’s, and RN’s who are caring for clients in their home. Also responsible for teaching and orienting aides and nurses to Bayada policies/procedures. Teacher for ACE class that certifies nurses to care for clients who have tracheostomies and ventilators.
